Picking Up The Pieces

In a mere 2 months time, it will be 5 years since the greatest tragedy of my life. Yes, I got dumped! Not once, not twice but 4 times by the same ONE guy. I know, I know. Shame on him if he fooled me once, shame on me if he fooled me twice & since its actually more than twice, I'm the QUEEN OF ALL FOOLS! While my mind kept spinning in all directions, the equation has always been this simple.

And that was exactly it. HE CHANGED HIS MIND! And they will continue to do so. All these while, I thought I was the problem. I felt worthless, unwanted, abandoned. I felt extremely ugly inside & out. During this 4 years and 10 months, my best friends were Mr Woe, Ms Sorrow, Mrs Anger and Ms Depression (actually, Depression has etched itself into me that it became a psychological problem for me. Mom & I will be consulting the doctors soon for medication. *yikes* - I'm not nuts, I promise!) Basically life was really really hard.

Though it's a little cliche to say that the world was a shade of grey to me and I always felt alone in a room full of people, it's true. I was once a butterfly but I've withdrawn myself from society. Hiding myself in the safe comfort of my own home, locked behind four walls as I wallow in my own pool of mess. It was overwhelming. Funny how when I look back now, I would have felt pity towards me (yes, I self-pity alot & it's not good) not because I was going through a hard time but because I NEVER wanted to accept reality. I didn't want to wake up from this bad dream. That is until NOW.

Like I said, he changed his mind and so did many who came after. I sought for a relationship that would heal the scars and wound I've felt. My aunt once told me that "to heal a broken heart, you have to fall in love with a new guy". Partially it is true but because of that, I wasn't looking for a loving partner. I was looking for a savior, a healer, a man who would accept me for all the things the rest left me for and that made things worst. Going from one bad relationship to another because for acceptance.

So I guess it's time for me to be the 'MAN' in my relationship with myself and start picking up the pieces. I've realized that I am the only one who has to accept myself. Not my ex, not men, not anyone else but me! Because if I am unable to love myself for who I am, then who can?

So here's the plan, I will have to start picking myself up from every angle starting with myself.

  1. I will start to dress up nicely everyday. I will put on a dash of lipstick and paint a genuine smile across my face. If I want to feel beautiful, I have to put effort to look the part. No more messy hair and zombie-like face!
  2. I will do the things I love. I will dance, I will go party, I will play and have fun because I owe myself that much for the years I've spent NOT having fun!
  3. I will pamper and love myself. Whether it's a meni-pedi sesh, an appointment with the waxing spa or indulging myself in a shopping spree and korean meals, it's time I treat myself like the Princess that I deserve to be.
  4. I will pursue my dreams. I will sit down and plan it all out nicely then I will follow them step-by-step because I know that I am suppose to rise from the ashes :D
  5. I will travel the world. Starting with Korea <3

Because in the end, all that really matters is Me, Myself and I. Because I've realized that with every breath I take, I can actually live without you (all who ridiculed me one way or another). So yeah,

Last but not least, a lovely song by Paloma Faith called "Picking Up The Pieces". I wouldn't want my real Prince Charming to feel like he is picking up somebody else's trash so I'll better myself so that when he comes, I am not trash but a treasure worth loving! :)

A New Journey - POINT College

Since I've practically been spamming, this will be my last post for the day. POINT COLLEGE! No, I am not studying but right now, I am working here :) As a Social Media Marketing Executive. Basically POINT College is a re-branded creative college where it focuses on Diplomas for New Media, Graphic Design, Interior Design, Film&TV as well as Animation!

Education line. A total switch from the Airline Industry ayy? But I really enjoyed myself so far. Since this is a small company, the amount of staffs are not too big as well making us bond closer with each other. Politics also not too bad la. But yea, POINT College really is a new beginning for me and I hope to be staying for a longer time :)

We are located at Sunsuria Avenue in Kota Damansara.

So, you're wondering why you should join POINT College? Here's why!

Hahaha, I'm practically advertising my company here, lol. But all in all, I strongly believe that POINT College is a good college for those who are interested in the Creative Industry. Did you know that my boss is an International Director himself? He actually directed JACKIE CHAN! Check it out!

See, I'm not lying!

Oh and we often get special visitors at the college too! :) One of them was the famous AF celebrity, Vince Chong - brother of Pamela and Vanessa Chong!

Well, one of the reasons I enjoyed myself here is mainly because of the students. To be able to work with young people filling the environment is a good change. It makes me feel more at place since I, myself am pretty much a young one! :) But seriously, these kids are talented. You should just look at their projects. I wonder why we never came up with stuff like that when I was in college.

Oh, did I mentioned that POINT College also owns Malaysia's largest studio? Green Cow Studio :) It's somewhere far-away for me lol but it's actually a few minutes drive from our College. And real-life directing and such actually take place in the studio. We actually get to watch an experience it LIVE!

Yeah, cool right? Hahaha, I guess this short write up - "Show & Tell" is about to end soon but let me introduce you to a special someone. My collegue and partner in crime :D

This is Nurizni :) She makes working FUN!

Well, before I finally log out, here's a picture of me with Ddee and a Mime during the POINT College + Silver Ribbon Flash Mob at Publika :)

NuSkin - A Whole New World

I've mentioned that I ventured into the multilevel marketing business, this is it. NuSkin! And it was an experience like no other. Through NuSkin, I managed to learn new things about life and success! How to channel your emotions and positivity into drawing yourself closer to success! It was a short journey but a worthwhile one. (I'm taking a short break while figuring some stuff out). Indeed many say that the multilevel marketing life is a tough one. I totally agree. But it is also a journey that defines you. It breaks you down just to build you and mold you back up into a successful person in this world.

I was able to learn a lot of life enriching values from successful leaders. Million Dollar Circle (MDC) Members! People who are earning million US dollars in a month and how they climbed that ladder! It's truly inspiring!

This is RAYNE! He is the system leader and currently the 20 MDC!

 Doris & Gavin! :)

Now this is someone special. Lillian Ong is a Singaporean and she's really really young! She's already a 5MDC :) "My Today Will Be Your Tomorrow" she said to me and that is one of the most encouraging words I have ever gotten from anyone! ;')

But of course, through this journey, I was able to be a part of a new family. People who truly care about you and your success. Your health, your future. <3

There is nothing wrong about being a part of something BIG and NuSkin is SO BIG! SO HUGE! That there's always a place for you at the TOP :) Oh, I also managed to lose some weight and tone up my body image. NuSkin product really is that great! Like seriously! Check this out :)

Can you see how defined my abs are? How toned up my shoulders are now and smaller my belly is? HAHAH, the power of TRA. If TRA is so powerful, TR90 is so much more amazing! :)

The Life Of An AirAsia AllStar!

I've decided to back track a little to all the things that sorta happened while I was gone. Yeah, one of them was that I joined AirAsia as a Social Media executive! The life of an AllStar is one that could never ever be replaced. I've had so much fond memories and experiences. I've made new friends, I've learned new thing, I've went to countless of events and I was able to fly across Asia. Not to mention, I actually got to meet with celebrities too!!

What do I do when I was in AirAsia? I was the Social Media executive, that means I am the official voice behind AirAsia's Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and Blog! I do copywriting for the posts that are to be out on the Social Media and I communicate with the fans. Yeah, well work is work - nothing much to highlight there but HEY! My team and I, we did a good job! So much so that we got on my boss' twitter!

There you see? "The BEST Social Media team in the world. AirAsia now the largest airline for Facebook and Instagram". Haha, I was so proud of myself :B In case you don't know who my boss was, he's the big man below && he was an awesome boss! Mr Tony Fernandes :) *he actually greeted me on my first day of work*

The World's Best Ever Airline :)

Basically, my team we're really tightly knitted. Of course we've had our ups and downs but if it is not work related and we leave all the politics behind, I really do think that we are nicely bonded already. We go for trips together, celebrate birthdays, have nice dinners and even have fun dressing up at work. It's never really a dull place at AirAsia.

A delicious meal at Sukiyaki <3

Bidding farewell to our friend from AirAsia Insure.

Team retreat to Phuket, Thailand

Dressing up during Deepavali :)

The culture at AirAsia is always fun-filled. Truth be told, I sometimes wake up and realize that I've left the company. I really really missed it there. One of the best company I've worked in. If I were to relive my life, I'd still make my way to AirAsia to work at least once in my life. Haha, all kinds of things happens there and it's not unusual. Firstly, we have this culture called the "Funky Friday" where every Friday, everyone has to dress up according to the theme selected.

The "LIP LAP" Friday

 It's Military Friday

There was once, everyone literally came to work in Pyjamas :) Well, besides 'Funky Friday', we also do all kinds of crazy stuff such as dressing up, being an idiot, play with pets and COOKING too!

We're all dressed up as Rockstars today!

*speechless* I love this lady though <3

 Yes, THAT IS a SNAKE!

And yes, we made microwaved brownies in a cup! It was simply delicious!

Next up would be the events that I got to attend to and the celebrities I got to meet. I literally was LIVING-THE-LIFE! Hahaha, from Malaysian Superstar, International Motorsport Riders, to Legendary footballers! I was starstruck! And the events were amazing! Music festivals, Formula 1 race.... even our ANNUAL PARTY was the bomb!

 This is FOWLEY!
Although he was super famous, he was super friendly and such a darling during dinner!

The Moto3 Riders :) Arthur, Danny, SANDRO & Fahmi :)

And of course, my favorite QPR player, ALEJANDRO FAURLIN! <3

 Haha, Siti Nur Haliza! <3
Future Music Festival Backstage yo! Able to watch Psy & FUN perform <3

Now this was our Annual Party! Ain't it simply just the BOMB?! :) We rented the WHOLE Sunway for this!

But you want to know what I love the most about being in AirAsia? What I love the most is the people! All of my colleague. The fantabulous-divas, the crazy geeks, the artistic designers and the darling loves! I've came to have a special bond with a few group of people and I must say that the Creative Team has always welcomed me and made me feel like I was a part of them! <3 And of course there's the off-load gang :)

Oh but most of all, it's this guy that I love the most! Hahaha, he is always there to brighten up my day at work. So much love for you dearest friend <3

I guess looking back, I've had a pretty good experience. NO REGRETS! <3

xoxo, ever yours,
Virginie Laurency

Rebirth - A New Beginning!

So.... looking back at my blog, I've realized that last I've been on here was more than one and a half years ago. Wow, that's one heck of a long time, I could have gotten married, gave birth and divorce in that time span. *kidding*. Anyhow, I guess I'm back for good now. Heck, it's funny how I am talking to random entities on the net as if there actually ARE people who reads my blog. I'm going to PRETEND that I am a rock star and that I have millions of fans/followers waiting to know about the little details in my life. Lol, yeah, I self-satisfy myself that way.

Okay, so let be begin by officially saying hello. "Hello"...... I'M BACK YO! If I actually manage to buck up my blogging discipline, you're in for a lot of new reads. My semi-promise to you. As I've mentioned, it's been about 17 months since my last blog. A lot has changed since then actually. I am obviously a year older now... but none the wiser. HAHA

Let's see, I've been through all kinds of roller-coasters during the time that I've been missing. It was a journey hell-bound but I survived the ride and got back up to earth. Now for me to rise to heaven, that's something to be anticipated (and by heaven, no I don't mean dead). How about I give a basic summary of the things that happened?

  1. I worked for the Devil and everyday, I wish I would die over and over again.
  2. I TAMED the LION at work. Yeah, Lion-Devil, same thing.
  3. I quit my job (that was stupid)
  4. Almost started studying - didn't made it :(
  5. Got involved with Multilevel marketing
  6. Started on a diet program
  7. Took a break from the business
  8. Found myself in debts (this sucks the most)
  9. Got a new job
  10. Get pay raise - this is good news
  11. Regret working :(
  12. Foolishly embarked on a non-realistic relationship in my head with someone I met online
  13. Got my heart er, broken?
  14. Suffered depression for a few years (self diagnosed with bipolar disorder) - not seeing doctor yet
  15. No idea what I'm gonna do now.
Basically, as you can see. I've tried many things and still failed. Sigh. Oh well, I'm only 21, I guess I have many years to make more foolish mistakes before actually getting in track with life. I am however gonna start taking charge of my life again I guess and I'll start with blogging. I believe that writing down everything that I am actually feeling, smelling, seeing, thinking, eating, watching, whatever-ing is good for me. All these bottled up feelings probably has got to get out.

Yep, gotta keep calm and write a blog :) Let's hope this would be a good therapy. By the way, I think I will most probably change my contents a little and inject more positive emotions into my writings so that you know, I don't mope and wallow in self-pity. Yeah, don't want to be called pathetic by mom again -.-" So, yeah, that's it for my welcome back post :D

p/s: reading back my previous posts, I couldn't believe what an idiot I have been. Truly embarrassed with myself but simply couldn't bring myself to delete this blog. Lol. If you're reading this. DO ME A FAVOR AND DON'T READ ANYTHING BEFORE THIS! That's the old me and well, let's keep her buried in the past :) You'll definitely enjoy the new me. I promise.

xoxo, ever yours
Virginie
